Finally: screen capture coming in Windows Phone 8 as a standard feature

I’ve seen on twitter sayings like ”the lack of screen capture feature in Windows Phone 7/7.5 is greatly damaging the system’s meme-ability”. Frankly, I can’t agree more. Every time when I want to show how nice an app is in the Metro style, when I need to keep a quick record of a certain part of a web page, when I want to share with friends what an ugly death I just suffered in a game… well I just find it impossibly hard to do so.

We cried for it, and finally we are going to get it, if WPDang’s source turns out to be accurate. Windows Phone 8 will come with screen capture shortcut, which is a key combination of the Windows button and the camera shutter. Press them together any time to get a quick scan of what’s on your screen, much like how you do it in iOS, Android, or even webOS.

Also noted by WPDang: “as far as we know, Windows Phone 7.8 is infinitely close to Windows Phone 8 in terms of basic functions and features”. This means old devices might get screen capture as well. For those not planning new device adoption, here is something for you to pray for.
