LG: We are still onboard with Windows Phone

We haven’t seen any hints of a new Windows Phone device from LG in months. They are most probably waiting for Apollo to unveil the next generation of handsets but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from saying that LG has left Windows Phone. The story comes from a statement that LG was taking a step back and focusing on research and development.  Development and abandonment are two very different things.

A spokesman from LG has told the guys at Pocket-Lint, “Korea Herald is showing its speculative side again. We are still on board with Windows Phone, but right now, we’re focusing on Android because that’s where the demand is. Regardless of which OS, LG is committed to offering consumers as wide a choice as possible.”

This is good to hear and the ‘right now’ should tell you that it’s not a lack of interest on LG’s part but rather a sense of timing that’s keeping them from releasing their devices. When Apollo is finally out later this year, we expect a slew of devices from all the manufacturers. We are eagerly waiting for Apollo to take flight!
